BETH LEWIS SOUND DESIGNER
FIELD RECORDING
Over the past four years at Sounding Sweet, I've attended over 80 field recording sessions, for both clients and Sounding Sweet's own SFX library.
At these sessions, I've assisted in recording:
-
154 cars, track or dyno
-
Foley for 10 cars in an anechoic chamber
-
Road surface sessions using an electric car and skid-pan car
-
Tesla recording session on a dyno
-
Big Cats - tigers, lions, puma, jaguar and snow leopards
-
Farm animals - goats, sheep, pigs, chickens
-
Wolfdogs
-
Horses
-
Black powder weapons
With many hours spent field recording, I've become comfortable with a wide variety of field recording equipment. Namely, Sound Devices MixPre II series and 6-series, Zoom F8 and a variety of microphones - mono, stereo, 5.1 and ambisonics.
I also personally own a Zoom F3 32bit recorder with LOM's USI microphones which I use to record ambiences when travelling or props around the house.
I recently was lucky enough to take a trip to Japan in October 2023 where I tested out the F3 and a stereo pair of the USIs, capturing things such as bullet train interiors and passbys, Kyoto and Tokyo night recordings, train station recordings!
